Richard Bateman AdminYou can already effectively reset your progress by starting a new study session. It's actually a less efficient way to study, but you can do it.

Scott W TalkingtonHow do you start a new study session. There appears to be no way to actually do that.

Richard Bateman AdminSounds like we need to find a way to make that more discoverable =] On the left nav bar click the top bar -- with your username, where you log in or force a sync -- and it's in that dialog.

Richard Bateman AdminTo clarify the Study Session functionality is currently only available in the paid app. We'll get it to the web eventually, but have other priorities right now.

Anthony SolyomReset is really no Reset, just switching mode.

Richard BatemanIn part that is correct -- this is not actually a full reset, it's the option to study in a way that ignores your previous progress. That's because it's almost never a good idea to *actually* reset your progress, it's generally much better to keep track of your overall progress even if it was years ago while drunk -- that's still a measure of how well you understood / guessed / etc back then and the selection algorithm will adjust for it and give you a more useful outcome.
If you have a specific use case where it actually needs to reset instead of just letting you start and see your progress it's something we can consider, so I welcome the input =] -

Adam"specific use case" ... I started studying for my Amateur Extra over a year ago and life events plus a brain injury prevented me from getting very far. I am now ready to get back into it, but really want to start over as most of the study items i was proficient on are not as familiar as they were a year ago.

Richard Bateman AdminAdam -- the algorithm would still "self-heal" well enough that it should be more efficient not to reset, but I understand that sometimes perception (even your own, even knowing that theory) can have a huge impact on things =]
The best way to do this currently would be to sign in on hamstudy.org, go to your profile, and then "delete account" -- sign out on the mobile app as well. Then create a new account to replace the old.
Creating a new study session would still be my recommendation in the mobile app as it gives you the same effect as resetting everything but with the option to merge the results later and see overall stats.
