Remote accounts/device Linking
So I can call and walk through/explain questions with my children or friends without having to be next to them or them reading me every question. Would be nice to link with someone else and see their screen and/or questions or what they select. I can then easily and more quickly study with others. Maybe then people can offer live mentoring as well. w7tpc

Richard Bateman AdminOne of the key aspects to keeping a system like this coherent is to look at any feature request as a request to solve a problem with a specific example of one possible solution; I don't think we'll be able to (reasonably) implement the exact method you're suggesting, but I'd like to see if we can nonetheless solve the problem.
To verify, what you really want to solve is: a) to see the progress of another person, and b) to be able to guide or share the study with them.
Correct? -

Richard Bateman AdminTo elaborate on the last point, it seems like you want to be able to in some way link the study progress so that you can discuss a specific group of questions which you know they have been studying.
Am I missing any of the basic requirements / hopes for this feature? -

Red CulverWell remote connection is activated for people to access and modify (willing) people’s computers/tablets/phones ect. For repairs or things that may be easier then trying to explain each step. My suggestion is to simply make either a separate group of questions that are in exact order, so I can go through the same exact questions at the same exact time as someone over speaker phone or in a different place in the living room. So we can go over questions together and we can talk through them.

Red CulverA maybe more appropriate analogy: a teacher in a classroom has everyone turn to the next page. Rather then everyone having a book, let’s say everyone has their own HamStudy.org app. Then we can all follow along as a group (Or any combination at the thanksgiving supper table or just a son and father) instead of our questions being completely random as a result of our each answers

Red CulverMaybe we can go over exact questions step by step and then challenge each other with a quit quiz or full quiz and then debate why the answers are the way they are amongst each other. Even if we happen to just be on a phone call in separate states once a week. And in the meantime (not in the linked mode) we can go back to OUR regular, separate algorithm of questions. Did I explain it better?

Richard Bateman AdminYes, I understand better what you're requesting; at this time I don't think that doing that level of remote linking is practical for a number of reasons. The biggest reason is just that the difficulty of the feature vs the number of people who would find it useful; there are other features needed by a lot more people that are far easier to do. I don't see this happening soon, but I will absolutely keep it in the back of my mind in case we think of an easy way to do it.
